delectable mustard tahini dressing (vegan)

Mustard tahini dressing – 8 ingredients and a whisk away from your new, delectably savory, vegan, oil-free salad dressing!


  • 1 medium shallot, minced (3 Tbsp.)
  • 3 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Tahini
  • 4 Tbsp. lemon juice (1 medium lemon)
  • 2 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste (optional)
  • Water, as needed


  1. Add all the ingredients to a bowl or jar with a lid.
  2. Whisk or shake the ingredients, then add water a few tablespoons at-a-time until you reach the desired consistency.


  • For a smoother consistency, use a blender or food processor to blend the ingredients.
  • Add salt after you’ve tasted the blended dressing. The mustard and nutritional yeast may contain enough salt to suit you.
  • Mustard tahini dressing will keep for several days in the refrigerator.
  • Scallions are the best substitute for shallots. Use the same amount (3 tablespoons) of minced scallions.
  • If you want a mellow mustard flavor, consider a blend of Dijon and regular yellow mustard.
